We are coming to the perfect time for Lego investing, it is the last few months of the year before sets retire and we are very confident in what is retiring this year, then there will be lots of sales and then clearance deals in the run up to and after christmas, it is the perfect time to maximise these Lego technic investments, plus we have all the data we need from their time on the market.
These five Lego technic sets that I have chosen should double my money over the next 12 months if bought at the right discount.
So take note of these 5 beauties and keep those eagle eyes on watch for the next few months as you will not want to miss these deals and the chances to double your money with these Lego technic investments.
Lego 42123 Mclaren Senna GTR RRP £44.99
This set is an ideal Lego investment, it is hugely popular consistently in the top 1,000 sales rank for toys and games on Amazon, very collectable, and also available at a good discount.
Picking this set up for anything at around £30 is a great buy for this set, which is readily available, has been available at bit lower £25. So keep your eyes peeled, but I would certainly be extremely confident of doubling my money, for the ones that i bought for £30.
The popularity of this set will continue even when it has retired.
Lego 42122 Jeep wrangler RRP £44.99
Very similar to the Mclaren – this set has been out for the same length of time, very popular again, same price range.
This will be big with collectors, the jeep is a very popular car, and there is little opportunity to have a Lego version of it, so it will surely raise in value as the demand outweighs supply.
Not as quite as high an average sales rank as the Mclaren but is still hugely popular, it will sell quickly, the price will steadily rise as stock diminishes.
My target buy price is the same as for the Mclaren at £30
Lego 42107 Ducati Panigale V4 R RRP £59.99
This set is a a higher price point and has been out for longer than the 2 sets above.
I am very confident of this set doing well, again very collectable, and there are not often Lego technic motorbikes, however there are a couple more out at the moment.
Superb sales rank, always around 1 – 2K.
Looking back at the last Lego motorbike that retired in 2018, we saw great performance. Lego 42063 was around the £54.99 price point, so easily buyable at £40. Within a year of retirement, it was already going for £120+ meaning the 100% ROI was already achieved, I expect similar things from the Ducati.
The price is always getting very close to £40 and anywhere between £40 -45, I would consider a good buy price.
42118 Monster Jam Grave Digger RRP £17.99
These little monster truck sets are wildly popular and will do great things after retirement.
We have clear directions from a set that came out the same time as this one but retired the year before. Lego 42119, this has got close to £30 a number of times already and is only 8 months into its retirement.
Now the buy price is a tricky one, as these were available quite alot last year at £10, and am still holding out for that price again, have got a few of them at this price point, and hoping for more. That being said I would probably not begrude £12.
For a more guaranteed and quicker 100% return, I would want £10. Smaller set so our margins are bit harder to get hold off.
But this will certainly be one that will double my money
42135 Monster Jam El Toro Loco
This very similar to the above, set in every way apart from the fact, it has been out a year less. So possibly less resellers, as many may have bought the above last year.
Same deal with this set hugely popular and would ideally want a £10 buy price, but again would consider £12.
Other Lego Technic investments to consider
There are some other Technic investments to keep a look out for, all technic sets are well worth consideration if bought at the right price. But these 5 are definitely the top ones.
