There have been some new Lego Star Wars sets released this month, three of which see a fantastic fusion between two universes, Star Wars and Marvel. ‘Mech’ sets have been a staple in the Lego Marvel universe for a number of years, as well as other themes such as Ninjagp. Now we have the beginning of these brilliant popular and reasonably priced sets into the Lego Star Wars theme.

A taste of MARVEL in the star wars universe
The Marvel mech sets have always been very popular and reasonably priced on the lower end of the price ranges.
Each set is complete with a Minifigure that attaches to a much bigger mechanic suit, giving them the stature the smaller figures deserve, with great flexibility and movement and always lots of fun tricks.
These sets based around popular characters are always hugely popular in the LEGO universe, and these Star Wars ones are going to be no different.
Three different Lego Star Wars Mech sets
There are three exciting Star Wars mech sets to think about getting, and I hugely expect there to be more in the future, It will be interesting seeing this sub-theme grow. Each is priced at £12.99, so same price as the Marvel sets.
75368 Darth Vader Mech
Well, the first one had to be Darth Vader didn’t it really, he was already halfway to being a Mech.
This set comes complete with a cool menacing little minifigure that goes nicely into the top of the mech, fully flexible to strike some menacing dark side poses, and of course the trademark red lightsaber that fits nicely into the gripped hands.
75369 Boba Fett Mech
Boba fett Mech is a great little figure for this release, fitting in with the same movie period as Darth Vader, a similarly cool-looking set. The Boba fett has a bit more to it than just holding a lightsaber.
You also have the ability to fire the shooter and use the jetpack with the Jetpack Flick shooter
This set was the first to see a good discount as it is available in the 2 for £20 Lego Argos deal, so can snap it up for £10
75370 Stormtrooper Mech
The Stormtrooper looks equally as slick, don’t think I can afford an army of mech Stormtroopers mind. Very nice set again, that will look great on the shelf next to the other two. This one is also complete with the same blaster.
Here is hoping in the future there will be a bit of variety in their accessories, we don’t want them all having the same blasters
Based on Lego Marvel mech sets these are going to be hugely investable.
Obviously, these sets are very new, and normally I would be remiss to say whether a set is investable or not yet, however, we have a good history to go through. I cannot see these three being anything less than hugely popular with fans of the theme.
There is going to be a huge collectable aspect to these sets as well as many wanting to get them to wield Darth Vader’s lightsaber and so much more.
Also, we have the history of the Marvel sets to show us how well they perform, so although it may be too early this will be one to look out for next year would expect retirement to come in December 2024
One of the first sets I invested in that did really well really soon after retirement was 76168 a captain america Mech set, my only regret is that didn’t get more. We got a huge discount on these 50% off at £4.50. But my did they fly soon after retirement, selling for £20 + within 6 months of retirement
It is a similar story with sets of the same year
76169 Thor Mech
76171 Miles Morales
Mech sets for investment this year
This year there are three mech sets that will be great investments that are very popular and retiring this year, slightly higher RRP same as the star wars new mech sets.
76241 Hulk Mech
I think the best bet for buying these sets is from supermarkets on clearance, this is where was fortunate enough to get Captain America sets at really low prices.
I have already picked up this year’s mech sets on clearances from Morrisons, some below half price, some 30-40%.
Anything at a third off these sets is a great investment I reckon.
