Twelve Lego Star Wars investments, to buy before the end of 2023 to double your money

The popularity of Star Wars has never been more significant, with more and more Disney TV series, Lego shows and games, Star Wars will always be hugely popular and collectable, therefore Lego Star Wars investments are a huge opportunity. With them being ideal for kids and grown-ups alike as playable sets or to collect and have on the shelf.

Whether you are nostalgic for the old Star Wars or a fan of all the new stuff. There is a Lego set for you. They are always popular and historically always perform well after retiring. It is also one of the bigger themes with many Star Wars to pick your way through. Many of them are retiring this year.

It can be hard to know which ones will make the most money. To be frank the majority will do well, but we want to focus on sets that will give us the quickest and best returns. Fortunately, the brick analyst is on hand to go through the top sets to get your hands on.

Check out these 12 sets that I am on the lookout for in the next few months to buy discounted ones before they retire at the end of the year. I have been accumulating these sets for some time, and with the retirement date confirmed, we are on the hunt around the galaxy for the best ones.

75300 Tie Fighter RRP £39.99

This set will have been out for 3 years once it retires, and as an investment, there will be none better, a Set based on the original Star Wars films, this one is sure to be very popular with a very cool slick design.

When in stock on Amazon it is clear how popular this set is. The only issue at the moment is it has not been in stock on Amazon for a while which already has seen the price go up a little bit.

My ideal buy price for this set would be 25% off, so if You get the chance to pick it up for £30, then I see this easily being able to double your money after fees within the year. I picked up many of these sets a fair while ago before the price increased so got mine for £22 each. Will be hoping to add to the pile before the end of the year. This is sometimes the problem with not getting investments earlier, in the last few months you can struggle to get them at all. But it is a balance because sometimes waiting until the end of the period can mean even bigger clearance deals.

75301 Luke skywalkers x wing RRP £44.99

From the same set of films, but on the Jedi side is this X wing, a well-priced set complete with four minifigures. Been out for the same time as the Tie Fighter, and is just as popular always sitting in the top 500 sales rank for toys.

This is going to be very popular with Dads of a certain age wanting their kids to own a set based on their first cinema experience. This will surely pass the test of time.

Very confident that this set will do well once it retires.

You can currently buy this set for £34.99 which is a great buy price. Perhaps being greedy my target buy would be £30, if it comes to it. I was fortunate to pick up a few at £28.52.

But this close to retirement, may not get that golden price.

75320 Snow trooper battle pack

Battle packs always do well, the last two years I have comfortably doubled my money 6 months post retirement with a battle pack each year.

Last year I went hard on the Mando battle packs and they comfortably tripled my buy price quickly to get a whopping return.
Buying 75267 for £7 and selling for £21 is truly easy money.

I expect the same with 75320, again a hugely popular top 500 BSR.

A good target price is around £12 or a third off, which has been available a few times. This is certainly a set I have been accumulating over time.

The battle packs have increased with inflation as has all Lego so we will need these to go for £30 to double our money on a good discount. Very doable, this is always collectable, with collectors always wanting to add to their army with more mini figures and kit

75327 Luke Skywalker red five helmet RRP £59.99

Now these Star Wars helmets are one of my biggest regrets from previous years. Take a look at the Storm Trooper helmet price at over £200. A whopping return on investment is to be made with these sets. I expect this to do incredibly well.

Very collectable and very popular as well despite its price. All of these Helmets are very collectable and of the ones currently on the market this is my pick of the bunch due to it retiring now and how popular it is.

I would be hoping to get this for anything around £40 -45, which is currently available. Picked up mine for £43 and with more capital will be looking to get a few more before the end of the year.

75288 40th Anniversary AT-AT RRP £149.99

This set has been out even longer than the others being first released in 2020. A set from the originals and one I have had my eye on for some time.

This is a huge collector’s piece. One that I would be very keen on building if I had the space.

Another set that is always popular and it being a set north of £100 and still in the top 5,000 sales rank is a sign of how popular this set is.

I think because of the price it may take a little longer to get to the 100% mark. But also I reckon if you were to hold for even longer this would be a great set to return to in a few years. A very good hold here.

Would not buy for any more than £120 – we have seen it around the £119 price a lot and if stock allows expect to see it here again before the year is out.

75292 The Razor Crest RRP £119.99

Another set that has been out for some time, this will be very popular with all fans of the Mandalorian

Another set that is very popular in the top 5,000 of sales rank. It is rare however to see this one discounted. The one I got I bought directly from Lego, and stacked the gifts and voucher discount. So effectively got £20 back on this set straight away. As well as a good gift. Plus some Lego insider points.

It has been reduced but not by much. But sometimes sets are worth investing at full price. But look at what you can stack to get a discount or cashback. Voucher cloud is always a good option to get a gift and £20 back. Or when they have other gifts with purchases available it is worth considering.

75312 Boba Fetts star ship RRP £44.99

This one is hugely popular, space ships always tend to do well, this one has been available at 40% off, however, earlier in Tescos mine was all sold out. Then bought them from Amazon but the lovely Hermes delivered them in the rain so returned them. I haven’t yet seen them come back to that cracking price.

So I have held out thus far, as it gets closer to the deadline I am thinking that would be happy to snap up for between £30-35 if I can.

Top 1000 sales rank. A very iconic set I am sure will do well next year.

As I write this it is priced at £31.99 and would consider this a good buy price.

75318 The Child RRP £79.99

Everyone is going to want this little guy in the future. Been out since 2020, a long time on the market, bought mine too early so glad to see it retiring.

Very collectable likely with Children and Adults.

Great sales rank top 3,000

Would hope to pick it up for about £50 and would then consider that a good buy. Got mine for £55

Expect this to do well once it retires. But as with the others as it has been out for a long time may take a little longer to get the return you want.

75324 Dark Trooper Attack £29.99

This set was very fortunate to pick up for just £7.50 earlier in the year at Morrisons, don’t think will get that lucky again. But still think this is a good investment opportunity.

It is very popular again often in the top 1-2,000 on Amazon sales rank.

I do think the RRP is slightly inflated as we have always seen this set at £21.99, rarely at RRP.

For that reason would like a bigger discount of about 40-50%. I think we will see good clearance deals for this one.

75343 Dark Trooper Helmet RRP £59.99

Another Helmet, which we know always does well. This one looks cracking

It is however not sold on Amazon which makes looking at the data difficult.

But based on similar sales in the past expect this one to do well.

It is whether you could pick it up at a discount, would be nice at £45 would be a good target. However, may not be possible on this set.
But is worth keeping a look out for towards the end of the year.

75329 Death Star trench run Diorama RRP £59.99

The last two sets are quite similar and think they will do well as good collector pieces on the shelves.

The first one of which is the death star trench run – A cool set focused on the x wing taking out the death star.

This is a very popular set.

Rarely sold at RRP as well has been at £45 for a long time, if lucky an extra fiver off would make this a great buy.

75330 Dagobah Jedi Training Diorama RRP £79.99

This set is more expensive, but similar sales rank in the top 5,000

Same again expect this will be a good collectors piece. A mint condition box will be desirable so selling as new on Amazon will see this set do well.

Also looking at the price when Amazon has gone out of stock sees it go over £100.

I think a good buy price for this set is £55 currently around £60 – we may or may not see our target price.

Reminders for Lego investors

As always with these investments, it is very much based on what works for you, you should do your own research, there is never a guarantee that you will get your desired price on the after-sale market. But we have looked at the data and consider these likely to hit 100% return.

My best advice is if you have limited capital to look at ones that you think will turn around the quickest. Battle packs have always served me well for this as have the helmets.

My goal is to hold out for the right sale price. So am always prepared to hold for a bit longer if need be. It can be easy to tie up too much capital when first starting out, so diversifying is a good way to manage this risk,
