We have often had Lego and Formula One cross over, with an array of sets, recently we have had the spectacular Lego Mclaren Technic 42141 and the Mercedes speed champions 76909. But which Lego Formula One sets are coming in 2024 – well here are the latest rumours and news and the more time goes on these rumours are becoming a reality, with them hopefully hitting the shelves in March 2024.
So what could be coming out in 2024? Five different F1 sets from three different themes. Well, my wallet is certainly going to take a hit this year.
42171 Lego technic Mercedes
This is the set I am most excited about. I had a lot of fun building the Lego Mcclaren 42141 and holds pride of place amongst my other Lego builds.
This set is due to come out in March so not long to wait. It appears to be a very similar build to the McLaren. Another Technic set is going to have equal stature in price and pieces. The RRP is expected to be £189.99 and the pieces are over 1600.
Initial rumours are that this will be based on the 2024 car, and if it is I will certainly be hoping for better performance. Coming just in time for the start of the 2024 season hopefully, this will be a winning model.
We have no pictures yet of this set, it’s all tight under wraps and maybe that is because we don’t want the competitors to get a heads-up.
Lego Icons 10330 Mclaren F1 MP4/4
The second Lego Formula One set coming in 2024 is the iconic Mclaren driven by Ayrton Senna, complete with a stand for display, and an Ayrton minifigure with one of many trophies he won during his illustrious career during F1 before his untimely death.
This car is from the incredible 1988 F1 season fought fiercely between Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna, where Senna came out on top to win his first of three titles.
Many f1 fans will remember or have been shown the battles fought between the McLarens.
This Lego set pays great homage to that.
Priced very reasonably at £69.99 complete with just shy of 700 pieces this is a fantastically detailed set. (Even if however all wheels are the same size)
Coming out on the 1st March this will go quickly and be in my basket just as quickly.
Lego 76919 Mclaren Speed Champions
A bit of a swap is happening with these sets, we have already seen F1 speed champs in the form of Mercedes, and we have seen a Mclaren F1 in the form of Technic. But now Mcalren F1 is joining the speed champions ranks.
These sets are brilliant, great little builds of iconic cars. Me and my Son have been collecting them for a few years now and are excited by the new crop. None more so than this set.
This set has stayed under wraps quite well so full details are not clear but we expect a single minifigure of generic theme. Importantly is this to be the 2023 set or the 2024 one? As soon as more details come out we will be exploring further.
Lego 76925 Aston Martin Duo pack
The last of the Lego Formula One set coming in 2024 – is another speed champion, however this one is a duo pack.
One half being the Aston Martin F1 car from 2023, and another that was on the grid for every race, but in the form of the Safety car.
We always have these double sets, with the Mercedes 76906 being one of them. No compromise to either car it is just 2 sets together (no cheaper, however)
Can get quite a collection now of F1 cars from the speed champions range, and with the sheer popularity of, I am sure that there will be more to come in the future.
42165 Lego Technic Mercedes W14 pullback
One Mercedes F1 technic care is not enough, there is a second coming out in March as well. So something for everyone, if you can’t stretch to the big one atleast you can get this one.
This set is based on the 2023 car and looks a similar set-up to the various monster Jams sets. A great build of 250 pieces, this will be a nice warm-up for 42171.
Great playability with the kids as well with the pull-back feature,
There is only one problem with these sets really and that is where the hell am I going to put them all.
Always going to be hard to put full detail into a set this size, but it looks a well-proportioned set that will look good up on the shelf.
F1 sets are going big in March 2024 and just in time for the new season could not be more excited.
Stay tuned for more news on the latest new sets
There is much more to come in 2024
