The threshold for this latest GWP is a welcome reduction at £90, and this will likely mean the resale value of the free gift, will perhaps not reach that of the £40 we have seen from many.
But never the less it is still a great way to boost your discount on your buys or investments or to keep it itself.
As a set itself, it looks fantastic, for youngsters into all things aliens and space, with 2 astronaut minifigs and an alien diner, to play with. With over 230 building pieces, this will be a fun build and a great set to keep.
I see it being quite popular and should sell quite well on the after-market.

Which sets to buy to boost investment?
So as always if you are going to buy from Lego for investing, there are certain sets to consider, rarely are sets discounted, which goes against our ethos for investing in Lego.
You have two options really you buy something on sale, or you buy an exclusive set.
Third option you buy for your own personal use, of which there is many in my wishlist at present.
Is there anything worth it on sale?
So on the sale front, we have seen lots of sets that were on sale increase in price, is there anything worthwhile buying at present?
Well actually no sale items at all at the moment
Which exclusive sets to consider?
But there are some exclusive sets to consider that are rarely discounted, meaning they could do well once retire.
Plus with these freebies on top, you are boosting your margins greatly.
Check out some exclusive sets, and for these particular themes, I would be looking at a couple of sets.
I’m looking at the Technic sets, as normally the best source of confident investment.
Lego 42162 the blue bugatti is exclusive to Smyths and Lego and retires this year. Up for sale at the moment at £60 – relatively slow seller, but hopefully next year price should increase and should pick up more on Amazon.
Lego 42152 Firefighter aircraft, is another option however this amazon exclusive is often available at discount.
Nothing really takes my fancy from the other themes as a strong investment option but definitely money to be made.
Obviously if we don’t go for the poly bags there is a whole array of sets that will be more viable. With better exclusive options that should be great investments.
