LEGO Star Wars investing 2025: The Best Sets to Invest In (Part 1)
Welcome to part 1 of our best Star Wars sets to invest in the run-up to the end of 2025
Historically, most Star Wars sets retired in December. With the new cycle, some lines now run into the following summer. For investors, that creates two clear windows: end‑of‑year exits (Dec 2025) and mid‑year exits (July 2026).
In this post, we are focusing on the sets expected to retire in 2025. Using our analysis of previous sets, sales rank, collectability, exclusivity and price points.
Before we get started, a couple of points to remember – retirement dates can change, as we get closer to the end of year, this is less likely.

Key Lego Star Wars sets retiring in 2025
75331 – The Razor Crest (UCS)

Big, expensive, and one of the flagships. Discounts are rare, but this will be a monster post‑retirement. Because of the high RRP, expect to hold it a bit longer. If you see John Lewis discounts or a price‑match, that’s your chance to pounce.
75304 – Darth Vader Helmet

This one’s been bumped a few times but is finally set to retire in 2025. Always a strong seller and usually sits in the Top 1k BSR. Around £50 is a great buy‑in and it’s not hard to find it near that price. One of the safest helmet investments you can make.
Lego helmets are always very solid investments, and this is the most popular of them all. See why I think so highly of helmets here.
75387 – Boarding the Tantive IV

This is a cracking set. It’s not been out long, but it’s already up there in the Top 1k BSR. Right now you can pick it up for about £33 at amazon, which is an absolute steal. Iconic Original Trilogy scene, and that shorter time on shelves should help it perform strongly once it’s gone.

75381 – Droideka

Very bullish on this one. It’s consistently in the Top 3k BSR, and fans love it. I’m more than happy paying £45, and cheaper if possible. Smaller, affordable sets like this often pop quickly after retirement with really strong percentage returns.
75390 – X‑Wing Mech

Mechs tend to do really well after they retire, and this is no different. It’s been seen at Sainsbury’s for 2 for £15 — which is a no‑brainer price. I’d expect this to be selling for £20–£25 not long after it leaves shelves.
75386 – Paz Vizsla & Moff Gideon Battle

Two strong minifigures here, which will keep this one popular. If you can get it for £20–£25 you’re laughing. It may cap out a little short‑term, but I’d still expect solid returns once retired.
75378 – BARC Speeder Escape

Army builder sets are always worth a look. In recent years they’ve taken a bit longer to rise, so patience is needed. But when demand comes, it comes strong. This one’s no different.
40755 – Imperial Dropship vs Rebel

A LEGO exclusive that will put some people off, but that also means fewer in circulation. Hard to predict exactly how it’ll perform, but I like it as a curveball pick. Sometimes the “odd ones out” do really well.
75354 – Coruscant Guard Gunship

Exclusive to Smyths, and Clone Wars sets always have solid demand. This should do nicely long‑term. Keep an eye on Smyths weekend discounts or events — that’s your chance to grab it cheaper.
75355 – X‑Wing Starfighter

Big Argos exclusive and a collector’s favourite. With a high RRP, don’t expect quick gains. But give it time and it’ll come good. Argos toy events or clearances are the place to buy.
Other sets worth watching
Some others on the 2025 retirement list that could do well depending on discounts and demand: Luke Skywalker X‑Wing Mech, TIE Fighter & X‑Wing Mash‑Up, Desert Skiff & Sarlacc Pit, Ahsoka’s T‑6 Shuttle, Mos Espa Podrace Diorama, Ghost & Phantom II, Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator, and more.
