All LEGO Technic Sets Retiring in July 2026

All LEGO Technic Sets Retiring in July 2026

LEGO Technic has a strong mix of smaller entry-level builds, licensed vehicle models and larger collector-focused sets retiring in July 2026. From an investment point of view, Technic can be a mixed bag — the best performers tend to be recognisable licensed vehicles, larger display models and sets with strong crossover appeal that can be popular with not just Lego collectors

Below is a quick look at every LEGO Technic set currently expected to retire in July 2026, including a brief note on popularity and investment potential.

Contents

42164 Off-Road Race Buggy

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £12.99
Release: 01/2024
Sales rank: Top 500

This is one of the stronger-performing Technic sets, which makes sense given its lower price point and easy accessibility. From an investment perspective this will make some good money post retirement, where it is quite low priced it will cap out its ROI

42151 Bugatti Bolide

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £44.99
Release: 01/2023
Sales rank: 4000

The Bugatti Bolide benefits from strong licensing and clear display appeal, which usually gives Technic cars a better chance of post-retirement demand than generic vehicle builds. It is not an ultra-premium set, but it sits in a nice middle ground where discounts and decent long-term demand could make it one to watch.

These sets are always ones that I tend to try to snap up at anything at a third off or less; they are consistent, strong performers. Popular with collectors and sought after post retirement.

42167 Mack LR Electric Garbage Truck

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £29.99
Release: 01/2024
Sales rank: 4000 (Sales rank does go up alot when not on discount)

This is a slightly more unusual Technic subject, which helps it stand out, but it probably appeals more to younger builders than long-term collectors. Investment potential looks fairly modest unless it is picked up at a strong discount. Again if we can get a third off or less, I’ll be getting a few of these no doubt.

42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £46.99
Release: 08/2023
Sales rank: 5000

Licensed Lamborghini sets usually get more attention than non-branded Technic cars, and the Huracán has strong crossover appeal with car fans. This looks like the kind of Technic set that could do reasonably well after retirement if bought below RRP, especially because the branding does a lot of the heavy lifting.

Same as the Bugatti above if we can get for a third off i’ll be snapping this one up.
When out of stock on Amazon this does sell comfortably for £55+

42158 NASA Mars Rover Perseverance

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £84.99
Release: 06/2023
Sales rank: 12000

NASA-themed LEGO sets often have wider appeal than standard Technic models because they attract science, space and education buyers as well as LEGO collectors. The sales rank is less impressive than the leading Technic sets here, but the subject matter makes it more interesting than a typical mid-tier vehicle set.

Sometimes these will need a longer hold to get to their potential but often popular with collectors as well, it has that dual appeal of space and lego. Most important thing as always is getting at a discount.

42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £389.99
Release: 06/2022
Sales rank: 20000

This is one of the prestige Technic sets in the retirement list and one of the more serious long-term holds simply because of its scale, Ferrari branding and collector positioning. The high price limits the buyer pool, but bigger flagship Technic cars can still do well over time once supply dries up.

Its a big layout for an investment, discount is imperative as always and with the higher price point you can expect a longer hold again.

42160 Audi RS Q e-tron

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £149.99
Release: 08/2023
Sales rank: 27972

The Audi branding helps, but the current popularity looks much weaker than the stronger Technic cars in the same wave. It still has some appeal as a licensed remote-controlled model, but on pure investment potential it looks less convincing than the Lamborghini or Ferrari options.

It is not as popular but it’s up there. I’d want at least £50 off this set to be honest.

42130 BMW M 1000 RR

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £214.99
Release: 01/2022
Sales rank: 30000

The BMW M 1000 RR is a more specialist Technic model, but it does at least offer strong branding and a collector-style display angle. The weaker sales rank suggests it is not one of the most in-demand July 2026 retirees, so it feels more like a niche long-term hold than a standout watchlist candidate. The Lego bikes however, are few and far between.
We have seen how well 42107 performed, but this was a smaller motorbike. Certainly, it will appreciat,e but be prepared for a longer hold with this size.

42211 Lunar Outpost Moon Rover Space Vehicle

View on LEGO UK

RRP: £89.99
Release: 05/2025
Sales rank: 40-50,000

This is one of the newer additions to the Technic line-up, so there is less sales-rank evidence to go on at the moment. The space theme gives it broader appeal than some standard vehicles, demand is not great for this set, and if its not popular now it will remain un popular on retirement, this one is a hard pass for me.
