How to claim the exclusive Micro Ninjago sets 40703 and 40704 from Lego
These Micro Ninjago sets were originally expected to be Gifts with Purchases, however, this turned out not to be the case. We know there is going to be four of these Micro Ninjago sets over the year. They are going to be exclusive to Lego, and are not available to just buy. But don’t worry they are easy to pick up and here is how.
Right now you can claim the first two.
How to claim the Micro Ninjago sets with Lego Insiders
To get your hands on these lovely little sets you will need to be a Lego insiders member. As a fan of Lego there is no reason not to be, exclusive rewards, earn good value of points on all your purchases.
Once you’re signed in to Lego insiders, then click on the insiders part of the Lego page in the top right-hand corner.
Then click on rewards and scroll down to ‘Collectables’
There you will find your Micro Ninjago sets.
As you can see you will have to claim your Insider points to redeem these sets.
You can earn insider points by making purchases or by snapping the QR code of your owned instruction booklets. You can earn 8 points per £ spent, or 5 p back.
You can redeem these points for vouchers in quantities of £5. So these two sets work out as £16.87 (2700) points for the Ninjago City (40703) and for the Docks (40704) £14.37
So you may feel the money can be best spent elsewhere.
Personally love a collection, so have my heart set on collecting all four of these beauties.
Lets take a closer look at these two sets now though.
Lego 40703 Ninjago City
This set is a micro homage to 70620, a nicely detailed set, ver 330 pieces it does look very neat and tidy and can be connected to the other sets.
6 inches high and 4 inches wide, it is indeed a tiny set, but one that will sit nicely on Ninjago fan’s shelves.
This one has been available for some time now on the Lego shop, so we have already seen it pop up on resale if you are a bit short on points.
We are seeing it sell for £30 -35 on eBay, so showing already it is more valuable than the points you can redeem for.
Lego 40704 Micro Ninjago Docks
This set is based on another Ninjago set of old, this time 70657. slightly smaller set than 40703 but the similarities between the bigger set are clear and this will sit nicely next to the micro city.
This one has not been available as long, but again we are seeing them sell for around the £30 mark.
Could these be great investments?
Ninjago is often a prevalent theme and one that we usually see has really done well as investments, often doubling our money or more.
So it begs the question, could these sets be profitable investments? this question is a bit more difficult to answer, as they are not your usual investable sets. But we see with many GWPs that they can make some great money as we hold them and supply falls.
With these exclusive Ninjago sets, we have already seen they are selling quite well on the second hand market.
I would expect this to continue with all of them. I also don’t see these sets being available from Lego past this year. So as with any other investment if we wait past retirement. Then these should perform nicely.
I plan to collect the set of four hold them for a year and see what happens. I would expect them to perform quite nicely, and see them easily going for £100-150 combined. Which even if you were buying at cash would make them excellent returns.
