This new themed Lego 40712 gift with Purchase is a blast from the past

A new gift with purchase is here after Valentine’s Day GWP, this is a beautiful space-themed nostalgic set, that is expected to be very popular and collectable. 40712 is a throwback to some old sets, there is a lot to unpack here with this set. 

How much do you need to spend?

The threshold for purchase is £180, which is about usual for a set such as this.

When is it available?

For Lego insiders the product is available early between the 16th – and 18th of January, and then for everyone else between the 19th – and 25th of January. But remember once they sell out this will be gone. 

What do you get from this set?

There is a lot to unpack here with this Lego set, and as we said some cool throwbacks to sets of old. 

You get 4 micro models and 2 Lego Space characters. Complete with space suits and helmets, this will be a great toy to play with for kids aged 9 and up. 

All the models are based on sets from the past which gives this set such a cool edge.

Model 1 and 2 the Launchpad and Space station, are from set 483 (yeh just the 3 digits). Released in 1978.

Model 3 Rocket transport vehicle from 6950

Well we move up to four digits for the next part of this set, first coming out in, But not much older coming out in 1982

Model 4 Space patrol from 6803

Then finally the Space Patrol which came out in 1983, a tiny set but such a great addition to this nostalgic piece overall.

I love how they have kept true to the originals and it just goes to show that lego is always timeless, for any fans of these lovely little bricks, this is a great reminder of the origins of Lego and the great fun it brings.
